Stage 2: LarvaThe larvae hatch and are hungry. They eat tiny insects called aphids. They are helpful because the aphids harm plants. The larva molts, or sheds its skin, several times as it grows.
Stage 3: PupaAfter a couple of weeks of growing, the larva will begin to change. It attaches to a leaf and forms a pupa. Inside it will change into a ladybug.
Stage 4: Adult LadybugOnce the change is complete, a lady bug comes out. It is soft and pink for a couple of hours until its shell hardens and becomes bright red. As an adult the ladybug has wings and can fly.

Life Cycle of a Ladybug
All organisms begin life, change as they grow and develop, and mature. A life cycle is the series of stages that organisms go through in their lifetime. Since it is a cycle, it doesn't have a beginning or end, but once you start there is a definite order.
