Ladybugs can be found almost worldwide but especially in warmer climates. There are about 5,000 different species of ladybugs in the world and about 400 species live in North America alone!
Ladybugs are beetles that live in many places. Some ladybugs live in forests or fields. Others live in gardens or grasslands. During the autumn, ladybugs gather in places such as the base of a tree, along a fence row, under a fallen tree, or under a rock. Ladybugs are often found under leaves which protect them from cold winter temperatures. There are ladybugs that even live in people’s homes. Some ladybugs collect in large numbers on the sunny side of houses. |
